Ajit Foundation’s “Feed Hope, Not Hunger” campaign provides one wholesome, nutritious meal a day to street-connected and homeless children who are often excluded from government schemes and go to bed hungry. India still has millions of children living on pavements, near stations, and under flyovers, surviving on leftover or unsafe food. This campaign ensures they receive rice, dal, vegetables, and fruits (600–800 kcal), improving their health, dignity, and chances to learn. With small donations like ₹500 or ₹1000, donors can directly feed a child and support a hunger-free childhood, turning compassion into a daily lifeline.

Feed Hope, Not Hunger — One Nutritious Meal for Every Street Child

Every child deserves food, shelter, and a chance to dream — but for millions of children in India, even one full meal a day is a distant dream. Today, an estimated 10 to 18 million ‘street-connected’ children live and sleep on the streets of India.

They are seen at traffic signals, bus stands, railway stations, or under flyovers — struggling for survival every single day.

The Harsh Reality

Around 80% of these children go to bed hungry every night.

They do not even get one wholesome meal a day.

India’s National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) reveals an alarming picture:

  1. 35.5% of children under 5 are stunted (low height for age)
  2. 19.3% are wasted (low weight for height)
  3. 32.1% are underweight
  4. Over 6.7 million (67 lakh) children fall into the “zero-food” category — meaning they didn’t receive any food at all in the last 24 hours.

Children who live on the streets or in makeshift shelters are often excluded from Government programs like the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. Most of them eat whatever they can find — leftover or spoiled food from hotels, garbage bins, or roadside stalls.

As a result, thousands of children suffer from malnutrition, anemia, tuberculosis, measles, stomach infections, and severe skin diseases.

Many lose their childhood to hunger before they ever get a chance to live it.

Our Mission: One Nutritious Meal a Day

At Ajit Foundation, we believe that food is not just nourishment — it’s hope, dignity, and life itself.

Through our Daily Meal Program, we aim to provide one wholesome, nutritious meal every day to homeless and malnourished children living on the streets.

Each meal includes: Rice • Vegetables • Dal • Fruits — providing 600–800 kcal of essential nutrition.
